New User Bootcamp - How to use KindLIke.Us
Joining KindLIke.Us is a great first step, but you're probably wondering what to do once you've joined. Hopefully, we will answer those questions here.
First of all, you will see across the top a menu bar that includes My Page. That's your own personal spot on KindLike.Us where you can make yourself at home and design your page the way you want. You might want to follow along by opening this site in another window.
Click on My Page and you'll see your profile on the left side. There's a line that says "Manage My Page or Photo. Go ahead and upload a photo, we're all friends here. You can restrict who sees your page, but we'll get to that in a minute.
Clicking My Page takes you to the Settings section for your homepage. There you can change your photo, change the colors, header, and background of your page, and dress things up the way you want. You can set your email preferences, a web address for your personal page, and change your privacy settings. With privacy settings, you can have just members see your page, or just the people you accept as friends.
If you jump back to My Page, you'll see that there's a button called Share. You can send your page to friends on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, del.icio.us, StumbleUpon, and Digg. You can also send a link via email.
Below the Share button, there's one called Add Apps. There are hundreds of applications for news updates, playing games, integrating with other social sites, checking email, sharing with friends, and more. It's your page, so you decide what goes on it.
