Why KindLike.Us?
Kindness is an amazingly powerful gift. We created this site to connect people, to offer a forum where people can share their stories of kindness, and as a place to inspire and encourage greater kindness in the world. Please join us!
We all have the capacity to be kind, it is in our nature. When you are kind to someone, it benefits both you and the recipient. Both are uplifted by the experience. Kindness doesn't require money, status, ability or talent. It is within everyone's grasp to offer and receive. It's supply is limitless. We need only to encourage a "kindness economy" to increase its value to others.
The reason for starting this community is simple. We all want to do something that matters, to somehow make some part of the world a better place. As individuals, our efforts sometimes seem futile against goliath issues of world suffering. One person cannot do very much without making great sacrifice, and even with sacrifice, there is still only so much one can do. But the strength of community is invincible. Using the power of people who share the same goal, unlikely solutions become possible.
Our hope is to gather together people who are unified by kindness, and as a community we can engage the world and make changes that make a real difference. Here we can make friends, start groups that focus around causes, write blogs, share news, talk, and encourage. We like to think of this as Facebook for people who are connected through kindness.
